The British Museum's collection spans more than two million years of human history and culture, all under one roof.
Supporting the KS3 national curriculum, students can take part in a wide variety of sessions that are delivered by our team of professional educators and artists. Our unique KS3 offer explores what it is to be human and encourages students to use material culture, to develop independent and transferable enquiry-based skills.
Our ages 11–14 (KS3) learning programme includes:
- School sessions at the Museum such as presentations, workshops, gallery, and digital sessions.
- Student resources to use in the classroom or at home, with adult supervision.
- Teacher resources to use in the classroom, or at home if you are a home educator.
The new Energy Centre Programme, part of the Museum's Masterplan, will support our path to net zero and requires major infrastructure work. As a result, there will therefore be changes to our schools offer.

Schools offer update
We have some exciting changes happening that support our path to net zero as part of the Museum's Masterplan. This will mean some reductions in public programmes, including facilitated school programmes, in-person school group visits and lunch and locker capacity at the Museum whilst key infrastructure work is carried out.
The Museum recognises that this reduction in capacity may lead to some disappointment for schools and students, however, the Museum's learning team are working hard to bring new programming opportunities for schools later in the year.
