Inclusive learning opportunities for all young visitors
The Schools team has a strong ethos of providing inclusive learning opportunities to all young visitors. We offer a wide range of facilities to support students with access needs (visual, hearing, learning and mobility).
Please let us know of any access requirements when you book your visit. Most galleries in the Museum have level access, and all the facilities in the Clore Centre for Education are accessible.
The new Energy Centre Programme, part of the Museum's Masterplan, will support our path to net zero and requires major infrastructure work. As a result, there will therefore be changes to our schools offer.
Visiting the Museum

Information about booking a visit to the Museum and the facilities available on-site to all school groups can be found below.
Preparing your students
We have two whiteboard presentations for use in classrooms to help SEN students prepare for a visit to the Museum:
Preparation for teachers
Download our guide which takes teachers through a step-by-step process on how to bring students with a range of needs on a visit to the Museum.
If you have any questions about a visit with SEN students please email the Learning team on [email protected].
Schools offer update
Schools offer update
We have some exciting changes happening that support our path to net zero as part of the Museum's Masterplan. This will mean some reductions in public programmes, including facilitated school programmes, in-person school group visits and lunch and locker capacity at the Museum whilst key infrastructure work is carried out.
The Museum recognises that this reduction in capacity may lead to some disappointment for schools and students, however, the Museum's learning team are working hard to bring new programming opportunities for schools later in the year.
Please sign up to our school e-newsletter for the latest news on our schools offer and check our school web pages regularly.
