View of the Japanese Alps seen from the 'Salada Road', enlarged foreground grasses covering part of the view in a manner characteristic of several prints in Utagawa Hiroshige's landscape series 'One Hundred Famous Views of Edo'. Vertical cartouches with series and image titles in Japanese. 'Salada Road' (The Salad Road) is the nickname of a scenic highway in the Japanese Alps that passes through farmland producing fruit and vegetables.
