Man's kimono. Greenish brown cotton with a thin line pattern. Lined with silk with motifs taken from a print by Hiroshige of Mt Fuji, hawks and waves.

- Curator's comments
- It is made from contemporary materials but keeping in mind later 18th century styles. The colour is known as 'Kichisaburo' after Arashi Kichisaburo II (1769-1821), a kabuki actor, who favoured the colour in his clothing.
